Brad Pitt and his Moneyball were no match for the classic Disney film, The Lion King, at this weekend’s box office.
The Lion King was the leader once again this weekend with $22.1 million, according to Entertainment Weekly.
In total, the re-release of the 1994 film in 3-D has grossed $61.7 million.
And here’s even better news for fans! Disney is reportedly trying to extend the release of the film in theaters.
Sadly, Brad and Jonah Hill‘s Moneyball came in second with $20.6 million. But, if estimates are correct it could be the best opening ever for a baseball movie!
It still has a fighting chance!
Did you see Moneyball this weekend? Do you think it’s a movie for non-baseball lovers too?
