Lions for Lambs

This political drama shows wartime America from the perspectives of three different people: a senator (Cruise) who is trying to get a positive spin on his new efforts in Afghanistan; a reporter (Streep) who is being pressured to air the senator's story; and a professor (Robert Redford) who is deeply affected by the decision of two of his students to join the battle. The net result is a thought-provoking — if slightly bewildering — look at our times.
