Lisa Ling Returns to The View

Journalist Lisa Ling is returning to her old stomping grounds on The View as a guest co-host on Oct. 5 and 6. Lisa says she's ready to jump back into things with her pals Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd, while Elisabeth Hasselbeck is on maternity leave.

"I'm thrilled to be mixing it up with the women again. I'm hoping that some serious debate ensues," said Lisa in a statement issued by The View on Thursday.

This summer, Lisa went through a scary ordeal, after sister Laura Ling was detained in North Korea. She was finally released and reunited with her sister on Aug. 5. Lisa is also correspondent for The Oprah Winfrey Show.
