Although I write about beauty and health, I am often sent more than protein bars and wrinkle cream. On one whirlwind afternoon this week, I was given six pints of delicious gourmet Talenti Gelato because of their all natural ingredients, bags of Popcorn, INDIANA because Adrian Grenier and a million other stars are munching on it, and a crate of gorgeous, delicious cupcakes because — well there was no particular reason for those, other than to taunt me.
LONI WORKS IT OUT: PLAYING THE FIELD
Although I suppose there are worse things to complain about than getting yummy snacks sent to me all day long, it can get really, really tough to stay on track when sugar and salt and pink frosting is piling up in your cubicle.
And I know that it isn't just us magazine folk who deal with these at work temptations. My teacher friends are always complaining about the munchkins, cookies, candy galore that kids bring in to celebrate their birthdays.
And those in the corporate world are tempted by ginormous platters of bagels, donuts and croissants each morning at meetings and reviews.
So what do we do? We have a nibble here and there. We split a cupcake with a co-worker. Or we swap lunch for a brownie celebrating someone's birthday. It seems relatively harmless, so what's the big deal?

The deal is, we spend most of our awake life at work. Monday through Friday, approximately 9-5 sure adds up to a lot of hours. So if a chunk of this time is spent nibbling on tiny bites of this and that it is going to add up and lead to — well — chunk.
My solution is simple : being conscious. I allow myself one office cheat per week and stick to it.
You guys tell me: what are your biggest at work temptations and how do you deal?
