Madonna may be a superstar, but she's also a single mother of four children.
The singer admits that balancing work with motherhood is proving to be harder than she imagined, especially when it comes to her 15-year-old daughter, Lourdes Leon, who was recently photographed smoking a cigarette — something Madonna is not proud of.

"I wasn't very happy," she tells NBC's Harry Smith in an exclusive interview airing tonight on Rock Center With Brian Williams.
"I think I am a tough mom, but honestly, I don't think I'm as tough as I should be. I think I need to be maybe tougher," she adds. "It's hard — every day is a negotiation. But cigarette smoking I'm not very fond of — for anyone."
That comment surprises Harry, considering that Madge is seen puffing away in her new music video for "Girl Gone Wild." But the singer admits that was all for show.

"I don't smoke. That's just an accessory, Harry. There's a difference," she explains. "Lourdes smoked that cigarette before I did that video!"

Sadly, dealing with a rebellious teenage daughter isn't the only thing Madonna has to focus on. She has three little ones — Rocco, 11; David, 6; and Mercy, 6 — running around, too!
"My life must be hard because I complain all the time," she says, laughing. "It's pretty challenging. But so far I've survived with sanity and humor intact."
