Madonna's "Material Girl" clothing line is facing some legal trouble. A clothing company has issued a lawsuit against Madonna, claiming the material girl herself, stole the "Material Girl" trademark.
According to TMZ, the company L.A. Triumph, Inc. claims it has been marketing "Material Girl" clothing since 1997, building a whole company of clothes under its trademark.
Madonna has developed an entire junior clothing line centered around the same name, which was also the name of her hit 1985 single. The moniker also attached itself to the queen of pop.
According to the documents, obtained by TMZ, Madonna has stolen the name "Material Girl" for her line Material Girl Brand, which launched this year at Macy's.
L.A. Triumph is demanding a declaration from a federal judge that Madonna's use of "Material Girl" creates "deception" in the marketplace.

Madonna and her daughter, Lourdes, teamed up to launch the line for Macy’s early this year.
The duo chose 16-year-old rebel rocker and actress Taylor Momsen as the face for their fall ad campaign.
