When you've got a busy life as an internationally known rock star, there's not a lot of time to sit around and mope over a break-up, something Madonna is grateful for, telling the Associated Press that work "provides a distraction that keeps me going."

''I'm sad about my personal life, but I feel very blessed and very lucky that I have the opportunity to do what I do in my professional life,'' she reveals of her split from husband of eight years, Guy Ritchie.''It would be horrible if I was just thinking about getting a divorce and had nothing to do.''

The high profile couple's separation took one more step towards finality last week when they were granted a preliminary decree of divorce by London's High Court. Details as to their settlement agreement or custody arrangements over their kids have not yet been revealed.
