Is Mark Sanchez following in Brett Favre's footsteps when it comes to his actions off the field? Spots Web site Deadspin.com — which brought out the Brett/Jenn Sterger scandal — has been reporting on a story about the current Jets quarterback and his alleged relations with a 17-year-old girl. But, luckily for the hunky QB, his actions aren't illegal in the states of New York and New Jersey, where their brief encounter reportedly took place.
Deadspin began leaking details about Mark's alleged lewd actions on Friday, promising the full story today.
The complete story on the site includes photos allegedly taken inside the footballer's bedroom and an account by a 17-year-old high school student, who is referred to as “E.K.”, who claimed to be romantically involved with the 24-year-old quarterback.
In New York the legal age of consent is 17 and New Jersey is 16, which means any involvement Mark may have had with E.K. can not get him in trouble. But the girl is a high school student, which is definitely frowned upon by the NFL.
When the original post from Deadspin came out, the Jets issued a brief statement: “We are not going to discuss Mark’s private life.”
In today’s story, Deadspin has quotes from E.K.. who claims she wanted to get her version of her night with Mark out on the table, before a huge media firestorm ensued.
She shared the details of meeting Mark when he approached her at the NYC nightclub Lavo on NYE.
"You know I'm 17, right?" she remembers of their first exchange, explaining that Mark kept his cool and replied, "Well, we can still talk, but I can't see you until you're 18,"
But E.K. reminded him, "17 is legal in New York."
They kept in touch and Mark gave her tickets to the Jets vs. Bills game. Later that week, they went on a date and after the date came the hook-up.

"Yeah," she said after being asked if the had romantic relations. "We went back to his place in Jersey after dinner. He lives on a golf course. There was a big storm."
"He's a really nice guy, you know?" E.K. added. "I can say that he's one of the kindest people, and he's a genuine person. I know he's a guy, whatever, like, it's not that. Not that it matters to me at all."
She said it's important for her not to have her identity plastered across the media, and compared it to to the Ashton Kutcher alleged mistress situation.
"I don't want that image."
So is she still in contact with Mark? Not since Jan. 24.
E.K. claimed Mark texted her at 2 a.m. on Monday Jan. 24, straight off the bus from Pittsburgh, where the Jets had lost in the AFC Championship game to the Steelers.
He asked if she was going out, but as it was a school night, she wasn't.
Deadspin's report today marks the third time the site has disclosed scandalous information about players involved in the Jets organization in the past few months.
In October, the site published MySpace messages, voice mails and sexually explicit photos ex-Jets quarterback Brett Favre allegedly sent former Jets game-day hostess Jenn Sterger.
