Mark Wahlberg gave an interesting acceptance speech on Sunday at the Palm Springs Film Festival — he explained why he quit smoking pot.

Mark couldn't help but point out on stage while accepting Variety's Indie Impact Award how much his trophy looked like a bong... "But I don't use those anymore," he explained (via E! News).
Why not?
Well, Mark decided he'd share all the details during his speech.
"I stopped smoking weed for my kids," he explained. "One day, we were driving and you could smell it from somewhere. My daughter asked what the smell was so I told her it was a skunk."

But that cover up didn't work very well!
"Then she said, 'Sometimes Daddy smells like that!' to me and my wife," he shared. "So I knew I had quit."
Instead, The Fighter star said he now skips out on parties and goes to church instead.
