Seven long months after Heath Ledger's death, Mary Kate Olsen has finally spoken out to say she had nothing to do with the tragedy.

The actress released a statement yesterday after a string of stories claimed she has refused to talk to cops trying to figure out how Heath illegally obtained the prescription drugs found in his body.

The statement said that Mary Kate, 22, "had nothing whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger's home or his body" and does not know where he got them, according to the New York Post.

Yesterday reports claimed that the Full House star had twice refused to be interviewed by Drug Enforcement Administration cops investigating where Ledger got hold of the painkillers OxyContin and Vicodin, even though he didn't have a prescription for them.

Apparently she had tried to cut a deal guaranteeing that she wouldn't be prosecuted if she gave evidence about the Dark Knight star's death.

And it emerged that the authorities took out a subpoena back in April that could force her to appear before a Grand Jury -- but that the DEA had not yet used it to haul her in for questioning.

"Regarding the government's investigation, at Ms. Olsen's request," her lawyer Michael Miller said in the statement, "we have provided the government with relevant information including facts in the chronology of events surrounding Mr. Ledger's death and the fact that Ms. Olsen does not know the source of the drugs Mr. Ledger consumed."

Suspicions about Mary Kate's role in her friend's death were first raised because the masseuse who found his body in his New York apartment on January 22nd called the actress before dialing 911.

She also sent her personal bodyguard, who has also been interviewed by the police, around to the SoHo apartment.
