Matthew Broderick Returns to Broadway

Although Matthew Broderick will always bring to mind Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the 46-year-old actor has made a name for himself on Broadway, especially with hits like revivals of The Producers and The Odd Couple, both alongside fellow theater star Nathan Lane.
And now the Tony Award winnerwill return to the stage for the first time since 2005 in a revival of The Philanthropist, a comedy by Christopher Hampton, that is set to open at the American Airlines Theatre on April 26, according to the Associated Press. The show will be directed by David Grindley and produced by The Roundabout Theatre Company.

Matthew will play a college professor in the play, which had a 64-performance run on Broadway in 1971,, and the rest of the cast will be announced later.
