Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves Welcome Baby Girl, Vida

Parents to one-year-old son Levi McConaughey,  Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend Camila Alves welcomed the second addition to their growing brood on Sunday with the birth of a baby girl.

Matthew, 40, took to his official website to share the good news, announcing that he is now the proud father to baby Vida, who weighed in at over 7 pounds.

“On Sunday January 3rd at 12:13 AM, Camila gave birth to a healthy 7lb. 7oz. baby girl named 'Vida Alves McConaughey,” Matthew wrote on his website.

The actor also explained the couples’ reasoning behind their new daughter’s name.

“‘Vida” is Portuguese for ‘life’ and that’s what God gave us this morning,” Matthew gushed to fans via his site.

Thankful that his Brazilian girlfriend is doing well and that he is surrounded by so much support, Matthew also took to his website with gratitude.

“Camila’s recovering wonderfully and we are both truly honored to welcome this little lady into our family...thanks for all your well wishes and prayers along the way, another blessed day…” the outdoors-loving dad cheerily wrote.
