A February tree-planting ceremony in honor of their three-month-old daughter Lucia was the final straw that split Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva after three years together.
The couple and their friends gathered at Mel's multi-million dollar Malibu mansion to honor the pair's baby girl.

The event, which should have been joyous, turned sour as Mel lost his temper, becoming enraged as Oksana talked to one of the gardeners, accusing her of "smiling too much", a source tells Radar Online.

According to the Web site, Oksana, 40, then walked out on Mel for good, taking Lucia to another of his properties in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

The tree-planting ceremony was the final blow-up between the pair, after a month of horrific fights, hate-filled phone calls — all of which are now familiar internet fodder.
Since the first recorded phone conversation between Mel and Oksana was released, their legal battle has become ever more complex and industry insiders question whether the Braveheart star has a career left in Hollywood.
