Meryl Streep on Anne Hathaway's Engagement: 'Isn't That Great!'

Meryl Streep only has the best wishes to send to her The Devil Wears Prada co-star Anne Hathaway on her engagement to actor Adam Shulman. "Oh, isn't that great!" Meryl told reporters at A Magical Evening to benefit the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation in NYC.
"I wish she were here tonight because I know she would support the Reeve foundation," she continued. "This is a really, really wonderful organization helping people with spinal-cord injuries."

Meryl also dished on her love for the late Christopher Reeve. "He had great personal grace. That was before and after his injury. His fortitude and his determination, hard work was really magical to see. That’s why they named this the magical evening, because people, really, he was magic."

She also had a great time hamming it up with her friend Alec Baldwin onstage, where she remarked to the audience, “You truly are one of the most talented and versatile actors of our time, and it was an absolute pleasure getting to see you naked during shooting.” Mark Ruffalo, Melissa and Joe Gorga, and Dave Annable were also in the crowd at the event.
