Michael Lohan on Lindsay: "My Daughter Needs Rehab for at Least 3 Months"
Feb. 18 2010, Published 8:31 a.m. ET
Michael Lohan is continuing public rants, now confessing (again) his concern for daughter Lindsay Lohan's health. Michael — with girlfriend Kate Major silently at his side — opened up to Radar Online about his heightened anxiety for his eldest daughter, who he feels should have never been allowed to leave court after her DUI trial.
Michael told Radar Online he is convinced that Lindsay has an addiction to prescription pills and said he plans to confront the judge and speak to Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, at her status hearing today.
“I’ve been trying to get in touch with the judge for months now,” Michael told Radar Online. "As of the last court date, when I saw the way Lindsay walked into court, the way she looked and conducted herself, I knew there was something wrong, terribly wrong. It's my opinion that Lindsay should not have been let out of the courtroom, she should have been tested, and if she was dirty, not put in jail but put into a rehab."

While Michael praised Lindsay for her recent humanitarian efforts, he said he feels his daughter's main priority should be her own well-being.
Today, a judge is reviewing Lindsay's progress report from a former DUI conviction, Radar Online reports. Her presence is not required at the Beverly Hills court.
Michael, however, demands to be heard.
“My daughter needs rehab for at least three months,” Michael told Radar Online. “Come on… let’s face it, there are pictures of her out there — you reported it, others have reported it… of her drinking and taking pills in public. If you’re on probation, is that what the system approves of?”

In October, Lindsay was granted an additional year to finish her alcohol-awareness program.
Michael also revealed that he and Lindsay have been exchanging text messages — as recently as Tuesday night — and that Lindsay became angry and upset.
"Our relationship is strained,” he said.
“It really p****s me off that when you have trouble or when you’re in St. Barth’s and you have nowhere to turn to and you tell me everything is going awry and your sister Ali Lohan, age 16 is missing…I’m up 6 hours in the night trying to hire a jet to pick you up and take you home…and then you flip the script on me," Michael ranted, addressing his message to Lindsay.

“Whenever you need me, you call me. Whenever you have a problem, I’m there for you. You can’t backstab people. You can’t turn your back on the people that love you and want to help you.”
“This is about you getting well, you getting healthy, me loving you and wanting you to do the right thing. The prescription drugs are killing you.”
