Only one person can reduce Michelle Monaghan into a fit of girly giggles – her Made of Honor co-star Patrick Dempsey.

Despite having worked with a slew of hunky leading men, including Casey Affleck, Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, it was the good doctor from Seattle Grace that made her giddy.

“When I first met him I was giggly,” Michelle tells Parade.com’s Jeanne Wolf. “What was funny was watching women trying to mob him when we were filming in New York. It went beyond giggly.”

Having finally met him, the actress says she finally understood why he was so swoonworthy in person.

“He’s such a great guy and, OK, he’s not bad looking either," she says. "I think what some people will be surprised about — I know I was — is how funny he is."

Patrick plays Michelle’s BFF who falls in love with her while she’s away getting engaged to another man. After being asked to be her maid of honor, he spends the rest of the film trying to win her heart, which raises the question: can women and men have strictly platonic relationships?

“I think it depends on how much you value your relationship,” Michelle says. “I think that is the age old question, can you have sex with your best friend and still be best friends. I have a best friend, who’s a guy. And we haven’t had sex. Now that I think of it what could be better than marrying your best friend or falling in love with your best friend?”

Michelle didn’t marry the aforementioned buddy, but she did tie the knot with graphic artists Peter White in 2005. And just like her character in film, whose wedding is set in Scotland, the 32-year-old had international nuptials as well.

"My husband is Australian. We got married near the Great Barrier Reef," she says. "It was just a wonderful, beautiful, romantic, small ceremony — nothing like the one in Isle of Skye in Made of Honor. I had a much smaller wedding dress by the way."
