Ode to the eve of Oscars Sunday! Last night was certainly a celebratory night in Santa Monica, Calif. as Seth Rogen hosted the annual Film Independent Spirit Awards.

The Artist earned four awards including Best Feature, Best Director, Best Male Lead for Jean Dujardin and Best Cinematography. Michelle Williams won a statue for Best Female Lead in My Week With Marilyn and up and comer Shailene Woodley won Best Supporting Female for The Descendants. Christopher Plummer also won Best Supporting Male for Beginners.
According to the New York Daily News, Michelle gave a heartfelt speech and recalled upon her fondness for low budget independent filmmakers from back in the day. "I wore my own clothes back then which were not very good, and I cut my own hair which was also not very good."
She added, "I still remember the feeling that in this room, unlike others, that that was OK. Possibly even preferred. And when I thought then and I still feel now is that it's because this room was a room full of misfits, outcasts, loners, dreamers, mumblers, delinquents, dropouts. Just like me."
