Notoriously private Michelle Williams nearly has a meltdown before she hits the black carpet for interviews this week at the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Gala.
But the sophisticated actress, 30, composes herself, and fields questions about sharing a home with Blue Valentine co-star Ryan Gosling.
“I think it was really invaluable because it gave us a shared history together,” she says of the experience.

Her face contorts as if to say “what?!”
Is he a good guy to live with? Does he clean up after himself or is he more like a kid?
“He’s more than that,” she says. “He contains both of those qualities and numerous others.”
She doesn’t see a downside to awards season promotion.
“I always feel like, at the end of the day, I get to go out and have a meal with one of my best friends.”
Would that be Ryan?
She giggles. “Completely.”
