Micky Dolenz on Monkees Bandmate Davy Jones' Death: "Gigantic Hole in My Heart"

Singer Davy Jones of The Monkees passed away this morning at the age of 66. His bandmate Micky Dolenz tells OK! he was shocked to learn of Davy's sudden death.

"I am in a state of shock; Davy and I grew up together and shared in the unique success of what became The Monkees phenomena," Micky says in a statement to OK!. "The time we worked together and had together is something I'll never forget. He was the brother I never had and this leaves a gigantic hole in my heart."

Davy's rep confirmed today that he died of a heart attack. He is survived by his wife Jessica Pacheco and four daughters from previous relationships.
"The memories have and will last a lifetime," Micky tells OK!. "My condolences go out to his family.”
