Looks like The X Factor isn't the only singing competition that wanted to clean shop! 

According to reports, the producers of American Idol are looking to replace judges — or perhaps add new ones to the already packed panel — meaning Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler could be on the way out.

Sources confirm to E! Online that not only is Adam Lambert up for a judging position, but so is a short list of music all-stars, including Black Eyed Peas singers Fergie and Will.i.Am, as well as teen queen Miley Cyrus, hip-hopper Nick Minaj and pop's princess Katy Perry

"No one has signed any contracts yet and producers are currently putting out feelers and setting up meetings to see who they can get," one idol insider told E! Online. "We won't know if Randy and Steven are returning until they see who else is on board."

And although producerss want Jennifer Lopez to stay, rumor has it she's not returning next season due to demands as a mom and a film actress.

So is Idol bringing in a brand new cast of superstars to compete with Simon Cowell and The X Factor's Britney Spears and Demi Lovato? Sounds like it could be a possibility! 

Auditions for season 12 are already under way, but the competitors are still in the producers' round and have not yet sung for judges. So, there should be some casting news soon!
