Miley Cyrus shocked us all when she chopped off her luscious chesnut locks and opted for a bleached-blonde pixie cut last month.

We were skeptical at first, but the singer definitely rocked it last night at the MTV Video Music Awards, where she paired the bold hair with a super sophisticated black dress with a plunging neckline.

The former Hannah Montana star stopped to chat with Access Hollywood and revealed that the pixie cut has one very famous fan.

“My fiancé loves it. He’s totally for it. He likes just being able to see my face,” she said. “He thinks it suits me so much.”

Meanwhile, her family was torn. Her Dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, was fine with it, which makes perfect sense considering he brought the mullet to the mainstream in the early '90s, but her mother wasn't so thrilled.

"My mom is like a Southern girl that likes big boobs, big hair, big everything," she said, before quickly veering to the subject of her new album and how she's "finally found out who I am."

"It changes every freaking day, as you can tell," she continued. "Every time I write a song, I feel like I can finally be me, because I’m not stuck into a label, all of these people telling me who to be."
