As if the Academy of Country Music Awards on Apr. 3 wasn’t enough for fans worldwide, some of country’s finest women hit the stage the very next night to film the upcoming Girls’ Night Out: Superstar Women of Country Concert of the Year, honoring Wynonna and Naomi Judd, Miranda Lambert, Loretta Lynn, Martina McBride, Jennifer Nettles, Reba, and Carrie Underwood!
The Voice's Blake Shelton, engaged to honoree Miranda, hosted the astounding concert and explained that he was nervous to perform one of her songs in front of the bride-to-be before she shared some exciting news on stage about her new girl band.
“The pressure is on because I am singing one of Miranda Lambert’s songs tonight but as my future wife shell cut my sac, I mean cut me some slack!" Blake joked before the show got started at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Vegas on Apr. 4.
After bringing Miranda to tears singing “Famous in a Small Town,” Blake gave his fiancée the lead to introduce her new girl band Pistol Annie with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, “You and I have our entire lives to spend together so I think its only right that you have a girl’s night out tonight!”
Reba was honored by Rascal Flatts, who she sang “The Heart Won’t Lie” with on stage, while Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles was thrilled to perform with the now solo artist, Ronnie Dunn.
Carrie took the stage to sing "How Great Thou Art," with legend Vince Gill, as her mother watched from the audience.
The Judds, Martina McBride and Loretta Lynn were also given nods during the spectacular show, which featured performances by Little Big Town, Jason Aldean, the Band Perry and John Fogerty.
