Miranda Lambert Throws a Party

Miranda Lambert invites me to her Fan Club party held at Nashville’s City Hall during the CMA Music Festival.
Wow! I’ve never been to anything like it. The tables are topped with a bouquet of pink balloons, and each setting includes a hot pink “Ran Fan Rendezvous” cup. Her biggest supporters nosh on pizza and oatmeal cookies, and enjoy a performance including her tunes Kerosene and Gunpowder and Lead.
Time for superlatives, such as Most Creative Screen Name, which goes to wastinawayinmirandaville. Mom Beverly hosts, while tending to her dog Delilah, who was adopted from the East Texas Humane Society.
“She brings it everywhere with her, unless she’s flying,” a friend tells me.
Lucky Delilah even has t-shirts for sale. They say “Cause For The Paws” with a drawing of the white long-haired terrier.

“People want to know you, and they want to know what you’re about,” she says. “You can’t be vague about it. I really am who I am, and what you see is what you get. I think that’s why I have such a good relationship with my fans.”
