OK!'s Joyce Eng breaks down our fave show of the night: How I Met Your Mother!
"Five years. A lot of things happen in that time – an election, an Olympics, this show premiered. One thing that hasn't happened in the past five years? Stella having sex. Yup, the good doctor hasn't gotten any in half a decade as she was cautious of getting serious with anyone since having Lucy. Ted is shocked, as are Marshall, Lily and Robin, but surprise soon turns into worry because Ted doesn't want to disappoint Stella when it finally does happen. Marshall suggests he lower expectations, which Ted tries to do with eating potato skins with Stella after a "very long time" of not having them. Stella catches on and she assures him he shouldn't be scared about taking her Virginity 2: Electric Bugaloo. The big night is ruined when Marshall and Lily let the cat out of the bag that they know Stella's secret. Marshall's seriously the worst liar ever, but an adorable one as well! Stella's upset, but Ted calls her out on using that as an excuse not to get serious. She admits to it the next day and says she's definitely ready to take their relationship to the next level – and introduces Ted to Lucy. But no worries, they get it on in a motel afterwards. As for our exiled buddy, Barney, poor guy's on the lookout for a new bro. After calling others to no avail, he takes the incredibly dorky Randy (Will Forte) under his wing. What ensues is the most awkward picking-up of women in the history of television, including Randy calling a girl "a fat, ugly whore" (following Barney's rule to "subtly put her down"), saying koala meat is "delicious," and revealing that his nose bleeds when he has an erection. Is that a symptom of not having sex for 13 years? When everything's looking bleak, Robin advises Barney to let Randy go since he's just his "rebound bro." Barney knows it and admits no one was better than Ted. Ted, c'mon, let the guy back into your life! The fallout of Barney and Robin is being dealt with by everyone with relative calm. Weird, no? Good going on the writers' for having Robin point out that Ted ought to be mad at her too, to which our protagonist corrects that he's forgiven Robin and has just outgrown Barney. But we all know if Ted weren't dating Stella, he'd probably feel differently towards Robin. Oh yeah, Barney did (finally!) get Randy laid." – Joyce
