It’s 10pm and I just got back to my hotel – to blog, pack, transcribe a tape from Sean Penn’s press conference today for “Into the Wild,” – and then go to a Motorola film festival party that starts at midnight, grab my bags and leave for the airport at 4am to go through customs and make a 6:15am flight back to New York – where I’ll get in just in time to go straight to the office to write about all the festivities of the week – VMAs, Fashion Week and the Toronto Film Festival – for the issue that goes to print tomorrow and hits stands for your reading pleasure on Thursday. After work I want to get to Marc Jacobs runway show. Lauren Conrad from the Hills is walking in the show. I think she’s an odd choice for Marc who’s previous muses have included Sophia Coppola and Wynona Ryder but maybe I’ll understand more after the show. But probably not.Ok, for now I’ve gotta get packing and primping. I only have one party left to meet a cute boy – and get good scoop for you guys! When I’m back in NYC I’ll get you up to speed on some of the stuff Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Sean Penn had to say, the hot guy I never heard of before but is in Stuart Townsend’s new movie (and has been in a Britney Spears video), my chat with Larry King and my last few hours hanging out with the very cute Stephen Dorff -who has also appeared in a Britney Spears video! Oh, to have known vintage Britney. I missed Britney’s opening performance on MTV’s VMAs tonight but by the influx of text messages I got bashing her performance, most unfortunately, I’d say it’s looking more and more like memories of Britney are all that we’re going to have to remember of her career that was.
