
New Director Signs on for 'Spider-Man'

The director of indie romance (500) Days of Summer has signed on to direct the fourth Spider-Man movie.
With director Sam Raimi and the star Tobey Maguire out of of the planned fourth movie, Marc Webb will helm the next installment due for a 2012 release.
The next movie will focus on a younger version of Spidey, and Webb released a statement to assure fans that he wasn't taking over the series of Raimi but he wanted the "opportunity for ideas, stories and histories that will add a new dimension, canvas and creative voice to Spider-Man."

Webb previously directed music videos, including Green Day's "21 Guns" and The All-American Rejects' "Move Along."
