Don't mess with people and their signs! Horoscopes definitely matter to the many who need their daily dose of astronomical advice, and after a Minneapolis astronomy professor revealed some interesting findings, which suggested the signs of the zodiac may be wrong and added a 13th sign, Ophiuchus, the universe went haywire. So is it all a hoax?
Parke Kunkle, who teaches at Minneapolis Community and Technical College, said in a recent newspaper interview that the Earth's orbit is no longer aligned to the stars in the same way as when the signs of the zodiac were first created.
This means when astrologers say the sun is in Pisces, it's really in Aquarius. A 13th sign Ophiuchus was also introduced along with the findings. Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Jennifer Connelly, Ben Stiller, Vanessa Hudgens, Adam Brody and Aaron Carter are just a few celebs who would now fall under the new sign, meaning "serpent bearer."
The findings have since gone viral, with thousands of sharing their concerns on social networking site like Facebook and Twitter.
Professor Kunkle, however, clarified today, that the shift is "2,000-year-old information."
Also, to alleviate national uproar, Shelley Ackerman, a spokeswoman for American Federation of Astrologers, tells ABC she's been swamped with e-mails from concerned clients, but "this doesn't change your chart at all."
