Just after Nick Lachey announced his engagement to Vanessa Minnillo, his ex Jessica Simpson announced her engagement to Eric Johnson! So, what does Nick have to say of Jessica's news? Well, he's finally speaking out — but barely!

At a press conference (via Hollywood Life) for the second season of Nick's NBC show, The Sing Off, Nick was asked about what he thought of Jessica's big news.
“Uhh… I’m going to say what I always say, which is I wish her the very best,” Nick said before moving on to the next topic.

Nick was also asked a tough question about why it took him so long to propose to Vanessa.
“All things have their appropriate time, but thank you,” he said.
