Deadline insiders say the actor is not coming back and Millennium Films will continue forward, in hopes of keeping the same start date and assuming they can find a replacement.

Trespass was scheduled to start production in Louisiana and Nicolas was reportedly set in a $7 million deal for the film. Nicolas was at first going to play Nicole's husband in the movie, which is about the married couple being taken hostage by thieves.

However, in the last two weeks, Nicolas switched to wanting to play the leader of the kidnappers. The role of the husband was then offered to Liev Schreiber, who has yet to accept.

Now, the film also needs to find a replacement for Nicolas that is worthy of a $35 million budget.

Who would you like to see take over the role?
