Fashionable mommy Nicole Richie just landed a new gig! The former star from The Simple Life will mentor aspirational design contestants, along with designer John Varvatos, on the new NBC competition show, Fashion Star.

As for the show's premise, it'll search high and low for the next popular brand. Celebrity mentors will be on hand to coach contestants and viewers will be able to buy designs from the contestants after each show!

According to Entertainment Weekly, Nicole and John will join the cast that's not too shabby! Jessica Simpson is another celebrity mentor and Elle Macpherson will host the show (she's also executive producing it).

Sounds like the network is pretty psyched about their upcoming show! Fellow executive producer Ben Silverman stated, “Jessica, Nicole, John and Elle make the most exciting team we have ever worked with on a reality television show and we are thrilled to feature such an extraordinary group of mentors and designers.”
