Nikki Blonsky: "Beauty Comes From Self-Confidence"
Dec. 5 2007, Published 8:53 a.m. ET
Nikki Blonsky isn't content to just ride the wave of success she had with her star-making role alongside Zac Efron in the movie version of the Broadway hit Hairspray (itself a version of a 1988 movie that made Ricki Lake a household name). Now the 19-year-old beauty is set to follow that up with a starring role in the upcoming Lifetime TV movie Queen Sized.
When we caught up with Nikki the other day, she revealed exclusively to OK! that she chose to work on Queen Sized because "the script touched by soul. I was once insecure about my weight. It is a tough predicament to be in and that's what my character in this movie is dealing with."

No more, Nikki tells OK!. "I'm very comfortable with myself. Beauty comes from your self-confidence and your love for life." And this young star obviously has both.
Queen Sized, which is based on the true story of an overweight teen who stands up against the bullies at her high school and ultimately becomes the homecoming queen, premieres on Lifetime Jan. 13.
