Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald shocked everyone last night at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards with their engagement news. The newly affianced couple seem unaffected by the short duration of their relationship and "know" they are right for each other. And so do their pals! Actress Alexa Vega opened up to OK! about the duo's instant chemistry.
Alexa shared that the relationship between the Twilight goddess and American Idol alum is "fantastic."
"They are perfect for each other," she told OK! on the red carpet. "If I was to say anything, they are in it for the long haul."

While OK! was interviewing Alexa, Nikki ran up to giver her pal a smooch.
Alexa joked, “Our boys are boyfriend and girlfriend,” and Nikki agreed, “They are! They are boyfriend and girlfriend.”

Alexa is married to Sean Covel, a Hollywood producer best known for his work on Napoleon Dynamite.
"My husband and I have been huge fans of Idol forever and it was funny because Nikki was like, ‘You have to meet my man,’ and I was like, ‘Is it true. Is it really Paul?’ And she was like, ‘Yes but don’t say anything!,' " Alexa explained to OK! of the friendship between the couples. "Now it's out obviously, but Nikki, she is amazing. She is the sweetest girl and Paul is unbelievable."
The couples even double date "all the time."
"They are the most humble people," Alexa shared. "We go to Japanese a lot together. We go out a lot."
