Project Runway’s season six is heating up the Lifetime airwaves with its quirky challenges, from newspaper garments to surfer chic-wear. But OK!’s got the exclusive on what challenges didn’t make the cut this season.
“There was a very big hotel on the Upper East Side who wanted us to do their uniforms for a challenge,” Runway judge Nina Garcia dished to OK! at FIT’s Couture Council Award at Cipriani's 42nd Street NYC. “We didn’t do it, but that was a really good one that I was upset that we didn’t because that would have been great.”
Although she’s keeping mum on the hotel name, she says some of the challenges she gets pitched aren’t all that crazy.
“I get letters from fans,” Nina tells OK!. “They’re not crazy believe it or not. Some of the challenges we get pitched are quite good. We’ve been pitched many times to do a denim challenge, which we’ve done.”
Although we won’t see the designers this season creating hotel uniforms, the Marie Claire fashion director says there’s lots to look forward to on future episodes.

“The challenges are fantastic,” Nina raves. “We just finished filming this summer in New York and trust me, the challenges are quite good and the guest judges are fantastic and it’s all back to New York Fashion Week.”
