“I like a tuna sandwich and a small bag of chips,” says Toni. “I think it’s important to eat well, but you have to give your body some rewards for doing a great job and being disciplined... but in moderation.”

OUR EXPERT SAYS: Avoid empty calories: “Try chunk light tuna with olive oil, capers and tomato on whole-grain bread,” suggests Keri.

SNACK

I had an orange,” says Toni. “I love citrus. I had oranges three or four times during the day. Protein’s really important for me, but I think it’s really important to mix up the fruit and vegetables.”

DINNER

“I had a Greek salad,” says Toni. “I added some slices of beef, which is really delicious.” Keen to pass on healthy habits to her two sons, she adds, “I teach my kids that too much fast food is too much, so I limit that. And I tell them to drink water.”

OUR EXPERT SAYS: Aim for a’s!: “Add avocado slices for healthy fat and veggies like artichoke hearts and asparagus.”

“You can find me on my elliptical at home. Other days, I’m on my cycling bike. I also love my Zumba fitness DVDs.”

“Toni’s eating lots of whole foods, but the chips and tuna sandwich bring the day down,” says Keri. “A tuna-salad

sandwich can have more calories than a Big Mac! For more protein, she could swap one piece of fruit during breakfast for two teaspoons of almond butter and add a handful of nuts to her snack.”
