Already shattered by her husband's betrayal, now Sandra Bullock has to suffer the heartache of being separated from her stepdaughter.

Just days after Sandra won her first Oscar, she learned that her husband, Jesse James, allegedly had a months-long affair with tattoo model Michelle “Bombshell” McGee. But even more devastating than her shattered trust is the possible loss of a daughter she’s come to love as her own.

“Sandra sacrificed having her own children to raise Jesse’s,” a source tells OK!. “She dedicated her Academy Award to Jesse and their family — and now this.”

OK! NEWS: JESSE JAMES IS UP TO FOUR ALLEGED MISTRESSES

Since marrying Jesse in 2005, Sandra, 45, has been a second mother to Sunny, his 6-year-old daughter with Janine Lindemulder, a former porn star who served time in prison for tax evasion. This past year, Sunny was the center of a bitter custody battle between Jesse, 40, and Janine that Sandra helped her husband win by demonstrating the stability of their home.

During the fight, Sandra admitted in a letter to family court judge Thomas Coffin that she put her wish to have a baby aside for Sunny’s sake.

“To share the joy of bringing another life into the world with Jesse is something I desire very much,” she wrote. “But we realized that… wouldn’t be in Sunny’s best interest.”

Instead, Sandra doted on Sunny.

Sandra thinks of Sunny as the daughter she never had,” a friend says. “She would rock her to sleep and burp her. Now she loves doing her hair, taking her shopping, watching cartoons with her.”

Losing Sandra would also be devastating for Sunny.

“She has already basically lost one mom, and now it’s like she’s losing another,” a pal says. “I’m sure she’s crying her eyes out, pleading, ‘Mommy, come home!’ ”

And don’t expect Sandra to let go easily.

“She won’t allow her fight with Jesse to keep her from Sunny,” the friend adds. “Sandra wants to be there when she graduates from high school and when she gets married. ‘Love is love’ — that’s what Sandra says. And she loves Sunny to death.”
