Life can’t get any better for John Stamos now — a starring role on ER, a Rat Pack-inspired new home and Dumbo in his backyard. Yes, Dumbo’s in his backyard. The Disney aficionado (“I have a bunch of stuff hidden”) took a day off from hitting the rides at Disneyland to chat with OK! inside his Los Angeles bachelor pad.

What did you learn from your parents about love and relationships?
I learned from their example. They were very loving, family-oriented people. They were crazy about each other. They were very into us and our lives, as far as encouraging us that we could not fail at anything we did. I think that’s why, whatever my success is about and my sisters have both become excellent parents and they’re just really good to their kids and all that stuff just really rubbed off, I think.
What are they doing this season to spice things up a bit on ER?
We don’t know if this is our last year or not, so they’re pulling out all the stops, but it feels to me like they’re going back to all the basics, some of the simple storytelling, which I like the best. I think there’s less plane crashes and tanks running down the streets and more relationship, family and tighter, more intimate stories this season.
The rambling interview on Australian TV:
Looking back at it now, it’s like, come on, 25 years of good behavior and one day of whatever and I’m Anna Nicole Smith. It’s one of those deals where if I could take it back I would have done things differently, obviously, but look, I didn’t hurt anybody. I was flattered that people cared enough about me. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal. I’m surprised everybody gave a s***.
