Sept. 20 2009, Published 9:17 a.m. ET
OKmagazine.com recently caught up with sexy singer Jon Secada during his five-night run at Feinsteins at the Loews Regency in Manhattan, where he talked about everything from his new album, Expressions, to his secret to a long and happy marriage.
Jon, who lists his musical influences as Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Elton John and Earth Wind and Fire, tells OK! that Expressions is a "throwback to my college years where I became an accomplished jazz musician. It's old school organic and intimate."
Speaking of young musicians, he confesses to OK! that he's a huge fan of American Idol; in fact, he's a judge on Latin American Idol, which is now in its fourth season. "It gives aspiring young talent an immediate area for the public to know who they are," he explains.
And as a seasoned vet of the music scene, Jon has this advice for aspiring superstars: "Work on your craft. Believe in yourself and don't give up on your dream. Keep an open mind on the business of music."

On a more personal note, Jon likes to get away with wife of 12 years and their two children to the sunny sands of Miami's South Beach. So what's their secret to staying happy? "Communication," he says. "Respect, tolerance and love."
