OK! Interview: Josh Lucas' Green Pride

At the Global Green USA’s Annual Sustainable Awards Design Dinner, Josh Lucas proved he is as green as they get. “My family has been recycling and been part of this moment since I have been born so it’s in my blood,” he tells OK! “I am doing my part.”

That he is, indeed. The Sweet Home Alabama actor adds, “Well, I have bankrupted myself building this incredible complex green house in L.A. for the last three years, which is solar and every single way as green as it could possibly be so it’s deeply important for me.”

Don’t think you have to go bankrupt to support the cause. “I don’t think it matters whether you are a celebrity or whether you are someone who makes 10 dollars a day working on a construction line,” he explains. “I think it’s basically that all of us have a basic responsibility to this planet.”

Josh is even keeping the holidays green. With his family coming to visit him in NYC for the holidays, he says, “We got this very beautiful plastic tree that is supposedly recycled so we’re pretty excited… it was organically recycled as the box said.”
