Oprah's Puppy Ivan Dies

One of two golden cocker spaniel puppies adopted by Oprah Winfrey and featured on her show died over the weekend, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
Ivan contracted the deadly parvovirus, which is a disease that can cause dogs to suffer from diarrhea, vomiting and lethargy. Both he and his sister, Sadie, were adopted from PAWS animal shelter in Chicago. Sadie also contracted the disease, but Oprah's reps say she's getting stronger ever day.
"I'm saddened by his passing though we only had him for a weekend," Oprah said in a statement to the Sun-Times. "I remain hopeful that Sadie will pull through."
OK! spoke to Oprah's best friend Gayle King last night, and she expressed her concerns for Sadie.
"Yeah. Sadie is sick, and we’re waiting – hoping that Sadie will be fine," Gayle told OK!. "Sadie’s in the hospital, and as you might expect, she is getting the best of care. I have my fingers, toes, eyes crossed – prayers, we’re all wishing Sadie the best."
