“He didn’t seem to have an ego,” she tells me. “He was completely down-to-earth, and actually shy.”

What’s the best advice he gave her?

“He didn’t want us to be nervous. He wanted us to project that energy out to the crowd, and do our best. He had a lot of fun, too.”

Orianthi keeps in touch with the Jackson family, and saw Jermaine in November at the American Music Awards.

“It was great to see him,” she tells me. “He seemed good. He seemed really good.”

The This Is It DVD is in stores now. Check out her debut album, Believe, which has a bonus track available on iTunes.
