Oscar Pistorius shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day last year. That much is a fact, but the question has remained: Did he actually mean to do it? He has sat on trial for her murder for much of 2014, but now the verdict is finally in.
Pistorius was found not guilty of premeditated murder. The judge believes he did not intentionally shoot Reeva Steenkamp. Pistorius wept as the judge read her decision aloud.
But that is not the end of the trial for Pistorius. The judge might still decide that he is guilty of culpable homicide. He is responsible for her death, after all. The proceedings will continue.
