For gazillionaire Paul McCartney, you would think he'd charge mega bucks for singing a few Beatles song during the Opening Ceremony, right?
Well, according to The Hollywood Reporter, he got paid a measly British pound for singing at the Olympics!
A London 2012 spokesperson told the Agence France-Presse, "The top talent basically gave their services for free. But in order to have a formal contract for their services you have to show an amount, so that was set at a pound, which enables them to have a contractual arrangement."
As for the irony? The checks haven't cleared yet. The spokesperson added, "I don't imagine they're going to be fretting too much about it. We greatly appreciate all of them for giving up their time."
