Paul McCartney Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

After a year in which Paul McCartney's personal drama has overshadowed his professional success, McCartney was chosen to recieve a 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Brits.
The Brits, an annual showcase of the UK recording industry, will present the former Beatle with the award for his outstanding contribution to music. He was praised by Brits chair Ged Doherty as "one of the greatest songwriters of all time and a member of Britain's biggest ever group." McCartney has sold more than 100 million albums.
