As if being a judge on American Idol isn't enough for singer (and dancer, and choreographer) Paula Abdul, she now tells OK! that there’s a possibility she might be crossing to the other side of the table to compete on the next season of Dancing With the Stars!

“I’m just hypothetically thinking about it,” Paula revealed to OK! after sitting in on Monday's taping of the hit ABC reality competition. And, despite being on a competing network (Idol airs on Fox), she claims there would be no conflict with her show. “There’s a thing called the ‘off-season,’ I think.”

Last month, DWTS host Tom Bergeron spilled the beans that Paula wanted to do his reality series, too. And now, the "Straight Up" singer can’t stop talking about it.

“It’s all Tom’s fault!” she joked, adding, “I’m a huge fan of DWTS. It would be a phenomenal experience for me to be a student and to learn a form of dance that I’ve never been introduced to."

But before all the Paula fans go setting their Tivos for next season, she advises, “I’d be honored, but that does not confirm or deny anything that’s out there right now.

And though Paula first gained notoriety for choreographing dance routines for some of the biggest artists in pop, incredibly, she insists that she's never been a professional dancer. "I was always a choreographer... But I’ve never been able to be a student and I’ve never done partnering. If I even dabbled with it, I had to be the guy and that’s not fun. I want to wear the pretty dresses like the girls.”

Asked what she thinks about this season of DWTS, which has been competing directly with Idol on Tuesday nights, Paula has nothing but good things to say. “It’s fantastic. Unbelievable. Out of the ballpark." However, she adds, "Ask me tomorrow night and I’ll deny I said one thing!”

The two shows not only share the same Tuesday time slot, their studios are also right next to each other. “What are the odds that two of my favorite shows are so close to each other?" Paula asks. "I can throw my panties at Tom Bergeron!"

As for what her fellow AI judge Simon Cowell would think of her making the move to DWTS, Paula tells OK!, “He’d probably say, ‘Let me be a guest and place four cameras on every angle of my facial expressions.’"

Paula also took some time to weigh in on her DWTS favorites: “I’m blown away by Kristi Yamaguchi, Jason Taylor — and Marlee Matlin is a friend of mine. I love seeing people defy what other people think.”

When pressed to pick a winner for this season, Paula picks ice princess (and ) Kristi, “based on consistency and showing her spirit. In our generation, Kristi Yamaguchi as a world class figure skater is about as good as it gets and to see her in a different realm is awesome.”

So will we see the "Forever Your Girl" singer hit the dance floor next? “Who knows?" she says. "I’ll definitely be forever a fan."
