Merely a few days after his death, it's been announced Heavy D's funeral will be small and intimate with close friends and family in the New York area this Friday.
Born as Dwight Errington Myers and perhaps most known for his hit "Now That We Found Love," the rapper's burial services will be invite-only. According to MTV, DJ Eddie F explained, "The thing that he did that may be apparent, but maybe a lot of people didn't pay attention to it, he was the type of rapper like the hardest, hardest, hard rock was a fan of his, and he would move on the street." He aded, "But then he was also respectful and your mother, your grandmother could listen to Heavy D." MTV reports Sean "Diddy" Combs and Mary J. Blige will attend the funeral and TMZ reports the Wayans brothers are on the attendee list as well. Heavy D actually wrote and performed the theme music to their comedy show, In Living Color. The rapper died last Tuesday after he collapsed near his condominium in Beverly Hills. The L.A. coroner hasn't officially announced the cause of death but reports have circulated that he had pneumonia-like symptoms before his passing.
