It's time for the dawg to move over...Randy Jackson is apparently leaving the judge's table on American Idol and will morph into a role as mentor on the show.

As per one report, an insider indicated the head honchos don't feel he's too suited for the mentor role but technically he keeps the show intact and for him to leave altogether, well, that would be a total loss.

And although it's pretty much a done deal that Nicki Minaj will become the next judge, it's also a fact that Mariah Carey isn't too fond of Nicki. This of course, bodes well for TV! According to one site, produers are loving it because conflict and tension can boost ratings.
Considering they're on the look out for another judge, apparently producers want someone from the country music scene. In case you're doing the math, this also leaves another judge's seat vacant. Although the show wanted Diddy or Kanye West, neither are moving ahead with the reality show.
