From his wife, Susan Schneider: "This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions."

From daughter Zelda Williams, on Twitter: " 'You—you alone will have the stars as no one else has them... In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars are laughing, when you look at the sky at night... You—only you—will have stars that can laugh.' —Antoine De Saint-Exupery. I love you. I miss you. I'll try to keep looking up. Z"

From Sarah Michelle Gellar, his TV daughter on The Crazy Ones, to Us Weekly: "This is without question, the hardest few words I have ever tried to write. My life is a better place because I knew Robin Williams. To my children, he was 'Uncle Robin,' to everyone he worked with, he was the best boss anyone had ever known, and to me he was not just an inspiration but he was the Father I had always dreamed of having. There are not enough adjectives to describe the light he was, to anyone that ever had the pleasure to meet him. I will miss him everyday, but I know the memory of him will live on. And to his family, I thank them for letting us know him and seeing the joy they brought him."

OK! News: Watch Conan O'Brien get the news of Robin Williams' death in the middle of his show.

From the White House: "Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny, a president, a professor, a bangarang Peter Pan, and everything in between. But he was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives as an alien–but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit. He made us laugh. He made us cry. He gave his immeasurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most–from our troops stationed abroad to the marginalized on our own streets. The Obama family offers our condolences to Robin's family, his friends, and everyone who found their voice and their verse thanks to Robin Williams."

From Dante Basco, who played Rufio in Hook, on his blog: "With Hook and so many other films, I, like millions of others became a fan and was always delightfully surprised by the performances he managed to produce, but with his passing, I can’t help to feel, along with my generation… I can’t help feeling like it’s the death of my childhood. I guess we can’t stay in Neverland forever, we must all grown up. But I just want to bid a sorrowful farewell to one of the greatest I’ve been able to work with and be around and I’ll always remember my time with you as some of the greatest moments in my life… and just like the rest of the world, I’ll remember you with joy and laughter. O’ Captain! My Captain! See you in Neverland…"

From Mara Wilson, who played his daughter in Mrs. Doubtfire, on her blog: "It is remarkable how many lives Robin touched, and how many people said, just as I had, that he reminded them of their fathers. I suppose—could I really end this any other way?—we’re all his godd*mn kids, too."
