"I am shocked and deeply saddened to hear about the untimely death of Russell. My condolences go to his family and loved ones. My immediate concern is for Taylor and her daughter to make sure they get the support they need to get through this difficult time," Dr. Sophy told Radar Online.
The marriage counseling sessions were filmed for Season 2 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and may be still be featured on the show.
Taylor is reportedly "hysterical" about Russell's death, and does not know how to break the news to their 5-year-old daughter Kennedy.
Russell was found dead Monday, hanging in a bedroom at a home on Mulholland Drive in L.A., that is now reported as being his friend’s house.
No suicide note was found. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
