Playing a seductive mistress to a conman in the critically-acclaimed 70's crime drama American Hustle wasn't easy for Amy Adams.
“This is the darkest character that I do remember playing,” the engaged mom, 39, says Sunday during the film’s premiere at Ziegfeld Theater in NYC. “It was difficult at times, but also the things that make it difficult and challenging are the things that make you grow as an actor. Christian Bale, who gained 43 lbs. to play the conman, happily holds hands with wife Sibi Blazic as they stroll down the carpet. Bradley Cooper, who portrays an ambitious FBI agent, makes his way inside the theater following Jeremy Renner, who takes on the role of a politician in the film, and Adam Levine’s fiancé Behati Prinsloo, who is on hand to see the film. (Sadly, Jennifer Lawrence, who plays the wife of Christian’s conman, skips the premiere due to worsening weather conditions.)
