NEWSRed Carpet Confidential: Avril Lavigne Gushes About “Super-romantic” Fiancé Chad Kroeger of Nickelback

Now that wedding bells are set to ring a second time for Avril Lavigne, she has been inspired by fellow bride-to-be Miley Cyrus, who chopped her long hair and dyed it platinum blonde last month.
For her Abbey Dawn fashion show, held Monday at Style 360 inside Metropolitan Pavilion, Avril also punked up her look, shaving the side of her head and spilling a rainbow of colors.
“I figured, ‘We’re going to have our models walking down the runway wearing different colors of hair,’” the “Sk8er Boi” singer says of the brand-new dye job that took place that day. “I just got dye-happy and dyed my whole hair.”
She adds, “I actually had pink fingers, but they’re not pink anymore.”

During the event — in which ex Brody Jenner’s sister Kylie Jenner was the only model not to sport a tuft of colored hair — Avril, 27, collected a bouquet of flowers. Her collection, which features skeleton prints and T-shirts with slogans like “Hey, Sailor” and “I F****** Love You, B****.”
Although her collection is top of mind, her impending nuptials to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, 37, bring out her giddiness. He asked for her hand in marriage Aug. 8 bearing a 14-carat diamond sparkler.
“What was grand about the proposal was the fact that it was really natural,” she says wistfully. “We met in the studio, and were friends for a while. One of our last days in the studio was when he proposed. It was super-romantic, and had a lot of meaning behind it.”

How’s wedding planning going?
“I have been planning in my head,” she says with a laugh.
She’s even considering her wedding gown.
“I’m thinking about it right now, what I want. Either something I’m going to design, or partner up and collaborate with another designer.”
Hm, what will it look like?
“Bad-ass!”

She is even ready for prying questions. When asked, “Are you pregnant?” she responds in kind: “Are you pregnant?”
When asked if she told ex Brody before she announced her engagement, she gives a good-spirited growl.
“Balls, brother!” she says with a laugh.
Hopefully the second time will be the charm. From 2006- '10, Avril was married to fellow Canadian Deryck Whibley of Sum 41.
The Abbey Dawn show is part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, which takes place through Thursday.
